“My command is this: love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:12-13)

We are created for relationship, with God our Father and one another. Jesus defines these relationships by love (Luke 10:27) and the New Testament Church is repeatedly instructed to do the same. What is the shape of this love? It is cross-shaped. Exampled by Jesus in a sacrificial, selfless act on the cross of calvary. How are we to love like Jesus? Paul writes in Philippians 2:3-8, without selfish ambition, in humility, serve the interests of others and not our own. May we example this same love both in our relationships with one another at CBC and to those outside of His church.
