Revd Andrew Fitzgerald – The Father’s House (An Introduction) – Ephesians 2:19-22

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:2)

Following The Father’s Heart we begin a new sermon series exploring not the future house, where God dwells in His fullness and with His people, but the present house, where we find belonging even now. Paul describes in Ephesians 2 our changed position in Christ. Without Him we are lost, separate, excluded, without hope and without God. But with Christ we are brought near to God, have access to the Father and have a family to which we belong – praise God! This church is not the fullness of God’s eternal Household but we are a fragment of that family. Together, we are brothers and sisters in Christ, with Christ Himself as the chief cornerstone, joined together to be a holy temple in the Lord and dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit. During this series, we will explore how to better be the household of God, the Father’s House, and specifically with deeper love for one another.
