Tom Fisk – Encouragement in the Father’s House – Hebrews 10:24-25

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Being in the Father’s House is being a family, and as brothers and sisters we should be encouraging each other and spurring one another on. This passage shows that it is important not just to be encouraged by church leadership but by each other as well. It is a message of the importance of getting to know one another so as to be able to encourage one another. We also looked at Hebrews 3:13 which states that we should be encouraging each other daily. A challenge was offered to be an encouraging church, to have the boldness to get to know one another and to share positive words with one another on a regular basis, including those that we don’t see as often. 1 Thessalonians 5:11-14 sums up God’s purpose of this sermon for the Father’s House. We need to encourage each other, acknowledge the good work and encourage the disheartened in order to have the Father’s Heart for the Father’s House.
