What We Do

There are many opportunities to join in with the community here at CBC, on Sundays, weekdays, mornings and evenings. Take a look at some of the ways you can be part of the community below:

Sunday Worship

Every Sunday at 10:30 am we gather.

We worship. We open Scripture. We listen to the Holy Spirit. We pray and we sing.

There’s communion every third Sunday of a month.
Children and youth join us for the first half of the service and then go to enjoy their own space.

We usually finish by noon. But many stay longer. Talk. Pray. Drink coffee. You’re invited and very welcome.

Prayer

We believe prayer changes things. It changes us.

Every other Friday, we meet for a Prayer Hour from 10 am to 11 am. Sometimes we fast. Sometimes we weep. Always we listen.

Every first Sunday of the month we meet to pray and worship together in our evening service from 6-7 pm.

Community Groups

Community Groups are a great way to grow together as the people of God. We have a variety of groups meeting on weekday evenings and one during the day, a walking group who meet on Saturdays once a month, a Young Adults group and an online group.

Most of our groups focus on Bible study, prayer, applying God’s Word to our everyday lives and building relationships and community together.

Children & Youth

At the heart of our Children and Youth Ministry is a simple vision: to raise a generation of young disciples who pray, who are centred on Christ, empowered by the Spirit, who know God deeply, love others genuinely and boldly make a difference in the world.

Join us Sunday mornings for Sunday School, Tuesday mornings for our Little Seeds Baby & Toddler Group or for other special occasions during the year.

Hub Café

Offering a warm welcome, lunch, tea, coffee and a selection of delicious cakes every Thursday and Friday lunchtime.

We also offer food parcels for those in need, every Thursday, as well as debt and financial advice, mental health support, addiction support and a clothes bank.

Come along on Fridays for our Art Group or fun with board games!

Canterbury Baptist Church is a place of ancient roots and fresh hope.
We worship together. Move together on mission. We open our hands to the city.
And in it all, we listen for the voice of Jesus.
You are always welcome here.
